My wife has been extolling the virtues of Van Clarke hair shampoo for some time after trying just about everything else, and kept telling me to try the beard products. I was very happy with what I was using but finally gave in. I cannot say whether the shampoo or the oil alone would make a difference but having switched to using both for a month I can only say I am deeply impressed. My beard has been stable at about 3 inches in length for years but it is now getting longer. This is undoubtedly caused by the other two things I have noticed. Firstly, far fewer hairs fall out daily and secondly, there are far fewer new split ends, something I suffer from as my beard is exposed to the wind for long periods as a result of my hobbies. My beard also feels softer and less dry. I am converted and will continue to buy this as long as I remain bearded! Referring to the shampoo alone, it does initially seem to make ones beard feel dryer after washing but after a week this subsides and it begins to feel lovely and soft.
